We’ll Support Whoever Emerges PDP Presidential Candidate – Makinde; Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde has said all the stakeholders will support whoever emerges as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential seeker.

Makinde who stated this history at the Presidential Lodge of the Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, when Akwa Ibom State governor and presidential applicant on the platform of the PDP, Mr Udom Emmanuel, met with party delegates.

From the South-West geopolitical zone, affirmed that leaders and members of the PDP would rally behind whoever emerges the party’s presidential seeker after its presidential primaries.

According to the governor, the meeting was PDP’s way of strengthening internal republic. He said that the party has left the old order whereby delegates would be ignored by applicants who would only seek godfathers’ signatures.

He indicated that the governor had before been screened by PDP Governorship Screening Committee for the South-West geopolitical zone.

The 7- member webbing commission, headed by a former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, had inversely screened other PDP guardianship applicants across Oyo, Ogun and Lagos countries, at the South-West PDP Zonal Office, Old Bodija, Ibadan.

Makarfi told journalists shortly after the exercise that the process went easily, calling for concinnity among all the applicants on the PDP platform.

Speaking at the Government House shortly after entering the Akwa Ibom State governor, Makinde confided PDP leaders and delegates for strengthening republic within the party and the country.

Makinde say, I want to honor our elders, leaders, and delegates of the South West. This is just supposed to be a vote of thrust. So, I want to thank you for coming to strengthen internal republic within our party and the country.

“ I’m saying this because this exercise is geared towards strengthening our internal republic. Else, if it were to follow the old order, you wo n’t indeed come to meet the delegates. You’ll go nearly while some godfathers will plump you and that will be all. But this isn’t the situation moment.

“I need want to appreciate our leaders, delegates and all the people who has come in then. I can tell you that we’ve made a lot of offerings to get then. Indeed in Oyo State, the delegates from Irepo LGA would have travelled for five hours to get then.

“ This is PDP and after we’ve chosen the flagbearer, we’re also still going to work together to deliver Nigeria. We’ll support whoever God has decided to give to us at this moment.

“ The good thing then is, we’ve so numerous good individualities within the PDP. My family, others will come and at the end of the day, I believe the will of God is going to be done for Nigeria, our country.

While addressing the delegates, Emmanuel solicited the support of the delegates, noting that he has the capacity and the prerequisite knowledge to turn around the abating fortunes of the country.

He declared that the coming Nigerian chairman should be able of lifting its frugality from the morass, adding that as a governor who has demonstrated capacity at thesub-national position, Nigerians should trust him to do well as chairman.

Udom, who described himself as a detribalised Nigeria, who’s ready to unite Nigeria, said he’ll deliver and restore the misplaced glory of the country if tagged as its coming chairman.
