See the woman who just opened a black-owned veterinary clinic in North Carolina, big achievement

We adore our canine companions! Dr. Sarah Blackwell was raised in Matthews, North Carolina, where she was born.

She graduated with a bachelor’s in animal science from North Carolina A&T, an HBCU.

She later completed an internship in large animal medicine and surgery while attending Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

She may now proudly claim to run her own practice! The opening of Charlotte, North Carolina’s adorable pink animal clinic was shared by her cousin on TikTok.

Her aspirations coming true was undoubtedly a memorable experience!

North Carolina and South Carolina are served by the mixed animal ambulatory veterinary practice Ark Veterinary Services LLC, which is run by a Black woman.

Dr. Sarah Blackwell offers internal medicine, surgical, and primary care to large animals like horses, cows, pigs, and poultry species.

When she’s not saving animals, she enjoys working out, fishing, and spending time with her family and pets.
