2023: Peter Obi Wins Labour Party Presidential Ticket

Former governor of Anambra state,Mr. Peter Obi has asked Nigerians to join him in taking back the country from bad governance.

Obi stated this in a statement made available to journalists on Friday evening. Peter who’s an profitable expert ditched the opposition Official Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, history and joined Labour Party.

His Director General Presidential Campaign Organisation,Dr. Doyin Okupe, made this public after submitting a copy of Obi’s

Abdication letter to the PDP National Secretariat, Abuja, on Wednesday. His reasons for jilting PDP, are yet to be known.

His letter reads I’m writing to insinuate you of my abdication from the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP), which was conveyed to the Chairman of Agulu Ward 2. Anaocha LGA Anambra.

Effective Friday 20 May, 2022. Accordingly, am by this letter informing you of my pullout for the PDP Presidential Primaries.

It has been a great honour to contribute to nation- structure sweats through our party.

Unfortunately, recent developments within our party make it virtually insolvable to continue sharing and making similar formative benefactions.

Our public challenges are deep- seated and bear that we each make profound offerings towards delivering our country.

My commitment to delivering Nigeria remains firm, indeed if the route differs. I wish to thank you tête-à-tête for your graciousness and leadership.

I thank all Nigerians, especially our youths, who have joined me in the charge of delivering and taking back Nigeria.

Since I abnegated from the PDP because of issues that are at friction with my persona and principles

I’ve consulted extensively with colorful parties and personalities to insure we don’t complicate the route to our asked destination.

For me, the process of getting into this high office is as abecedarian as what one will do later.

Thus, I’ve chosen a route free of rancour and one in line with my mantra of taking the country from consumption to product and that’s the Labour Party

Which is synonymous with the people, workers, development, product, securing and uniting the Nigerians as one family.
