PDP Primary: Ayu To Chair Osun Governorship Appeal Panel

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday in Abuja constituted the Osun State Governorship Electoral Appeal Panel to consider appeals arising from the conduct of the Osun State Governorship Primary.

The 25-person committee which sits at 09:00 am Thursday in Abuja would be chaired by the Party’s chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.

Recall that the PDP parallel primaries to elect the party’s candidate for the July 16 governorship election were held concurrently at the Osun Township Stadium and WOCDIF Event Centre in Osogbo, the state capital on Tuesday.

Senator Ademola Adeleke won the primary election, which was backed by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and then Dotun Babayemi won the other backed by party stakeholders in the state, including the former governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, disclosed this in a statement he signed late Wednesday titled PDP constitutes Osun State gubernatorial appeal panel.

According to the statement, The National Working Committee of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party has constituted the Osun State Governorship Electoral Appeal Panel to consider appeals arising from the conduct of the Osun State Governorship Primary.

The Appeal Panel is scheduled to sit on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the PDP National Secretariat, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja at 9 am.

The members of the committee are Dr Iyorchia Ayu as Chairman, Umar Damagum, Taofeek Arapaja, Umar Bature, Setonji Koshoedo, Daniel Woyengikuro, Ahmed Mohammed, Kamaldeen Ajibade, Debo Ologunagba, Daniel Okechukwu, Stella Effa-Attoe, Muhammed Suleiman, Olasoji Adagunodo, Dr Ali Odefa, Dan Orbih, Emmanuel Bovoa and Theophilus Shan.

Others include Dr Aminu Abdullahi, Ngiji Ngele, Dr Charles Akitoye, Umar Hadejia, Mike Oghiadohme, Suleiman Adokwe, Aishatu Ahmed, Samuel Anyanwu as Secretary.
