The Appeal Court’s decision, according to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has ended any debates concerning the legitimacy of Ademola Adeleke’s Candidacy for governor of Osun State.
Dotun Babayemi, a PDP candidate for governor, filed a lawsuit against Adeleke, but it was dismissed by the court of appeal in Akure, Ondo State, on Wednesday.
The PDP claimed in a statement released on Wednesday by its national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, that the decision has further validated the wishes and goals of the Osun State residents who overwhelmingly supported Adeleke.
The sentence included the phrase “the Appeal Court judgment which puts to rest all disputes surrounding the legitimacy of the Osun State’s candidacy
Sen. Ademola Adeleke’s election as governor-elect serves as another confirmation of the wishes and aspirations that the people of Osun State overwhelmingly voiced on July 16.
The ruling is a resounding affirmation that the National Working Committee, which was led by Sen. Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, conducted the Osun State governorship primary in a transparent manner (NWC)
According to the Electoral Act and the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, as well as the PDP Constitution’s clauses and electoral guidelines (as amended).
Our Party applauds the judiciary for its bravery and notes that the judgment has further restored Nigerians’ faith in our legal system and the PDP’s procedures.
The opposition party urged its members in Osun State to stick together and help Adeleke reshape the state.
The party claims that Ademola Adeleke is committed to establishing an open, inclusive, and development-based government that will restore Osun State after its mismanagement by the ruling party APC.
