Many people in the US and throughout the world expressed their condolences to George Floyd’s family, particularly his wife and their 6-year-old daughter Gianna. Gianna, however, will receive a full scholarship from Texas Southern University (TSU) if she chooses to enroll.

A news release from TSU’s Board of Regents stated that they had “authorized a fund to give a full scholarship for Floyd’s adored daughter, Gianna… if she decides to join the University.”

The Board emphasized that by giving Gianna a scholarship, they were paying tribute to George Floyd’s legacy and ensuring her financial future.
