Superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo may only have a supporting role at Manchester United this season, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

Since Ronaldo has been linked to multiple teams this summer, the Portuguese star’s future with the Red Devils has hovered over the club for the majority of the season.

He will, however, be staying in Manchester for the time being now that the transfer window has closed, which was on September 1st.

When asked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford after Manchester United’s match against Leicester City, Ten Hag responded positively.

According to the Manchester Evening News, he replied: Having stated that We have a squad, and the season is still very early.

As you can see, we have more than 11 starting players. The players who are currently on the bench can play in one, two, or three weeks.

Ronaldo made a notable starting debut from the bench for United’s 1-0 victory over Leicester on Deadline Day at the King Power Stadium.

He had started as a substitute in three straight games. In the 68th minute, the striker replaced the goal scorer Jadon Sancho.

Ronaldo had two shots, including a bicycle kick, during his time on the field, but neither one found the goal.

Additionally, he registered one crucial pass, finished eight passes, and had a 66.7% accuracy rate (via Sofascore).

Manchester United has now won three straight games after a disastrous start to the season.

Against Old Trafford, Ten Hag’s team defeated Liverpool 2-1 before winning 1-0 away at Southampton and Leicester.

With nine points from five games, they are now fifth in the Premier League standings.

When the Red Devils host Arsenal to Old Trafford on Sunday, September 4, they will suddenly have a considerably more difficult challenge.

The Gunners have earned 15 points from five games while scoring 13 goals and allowing only four, making them the only unbeaten club in the Premier League.

The team led by Mikel Arteta has been playing like the genuine deal so far, and they currently lead Manchester City by two points in the table.

Over the past 17 years, they have only triumphed twice at Old Trafford in the Premier league.

In December of last year, they had their most recent encounter at the renowned stadium. That time, Manchester United won 3-2 thanks to a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo.
