Marcus Rashford of Manchester United’s Premier League rivals is allegedly a target for Chelsea.
Rashford’s £200,000 per week deal at Man United is set to expire at Old Trafford in the summer of 2023, according to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
However, it is known that Chelsea would be interested in making an attempt to recruit the 24-year-old attacker if he become available.
As early as the January transfer window, according to the report, the Blues may try to negotiate a deal for the English forward.
Additionally, the Man United player is admired by Atletico Madrid of Spain.
Chelsea interested in Rashford
Rashford, who’s rediscovered some individual form under ManUnited boss Erik ten Hag, is a complicated player
Since breaking onto the scene as a child many years ago, the speedster’s game has drastically diminished, but when he’s on, he’s still a terrific talent.
His most recent England appearance came in July of last year, but given his current form, supporters are talking about a potential comeback to Gareth Southgate’s side.
With three goals and two assists in six Premier League games this season, Rashford appears to be returning to form.
In fact, pundit Ian Wright recently said Rashford “looks reborn” this season.
Do Blues need him?
First of all, Rashford’s form needs to continue for a little while longer still before everybody can assume the best version of him is back.
As for Chelsea, let’s see what new head coach Graham Potter can do with the existing crop of attackers before the club targets new signings in that area of the pitch.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink predicts that Blues boss Potter “will love” working with striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
