According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea is prepared to pay £60 million this summer to get Anthony Gordon from Everton, a rival in the Premier League.

Six significant additions to Chelsea’s roster have been made during the active transfer period. For a total of more than £180 million, they have acquired Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, and Gabriel Slonina.

The Blues want to continue supporting Thomas Tuchel and want to add additional players before the transfer market ends on September 1. Although they are concentrating on adding a new center-back, adding a new forward is also on the list.

The London giants are interested in signing Everton winger Gordon, it was revealed last week. The Merseyside-based club has rejected offers from them of up to £45 million.

The 21-year-old will not be sold this summer, according to Everton. The aforementioned source claims that they had rejected four prior requests from Tuchel’s side for him.

However, there have been rumors that a proposal beyond £50 million would convince them to accept. According to the article, Chelsea now intends to do just that to see how strong of a team Everton is.

If the claim is to be accepted, the Blues are willing to pay the Toffees £60 million for Gordon. They are prepared to make a £50 million down payment as well as an additional £10 million in bonuses.

The two clubs are reportedly getting closer to a deal thanks to Chelsea’s most recent attempt. As a result, the London giants are becoming more confident about hiring the Englishman.

This summer, Gordon has reportedly drawn interest from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. However, the London giants’ readiness to spend up to £60 million has reportedly outbid them.

In 2017, Gordon made his senior debut for Everton after progressing through the levels of the club’s youth. Since then, he has made 63 appearances for the Goodison Park team in all leagues.

Last season, the England Under-21 international made a name for himself with the Toffees. In 35 Premier League games played for them past season, he scored four goals and supplied two assists.

In each of Everton’s three league games thus far, Gordon has started. He might, however, be traveling to Chelsea very soon.
