Pedro Neto of Wolverhampton Wanderers is allegedly Arsenal’s top transfer target during the current transfer period.
22-year-old Premier League player is Arsenal’s top transfer target, according to reports
So far this summer, the Gunners have acquired Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Arsenal has a real interest in Neto and has made him their top transfer priority.
Here is Ornstein’s tweet about Neto and the Arsenal:
The international player from Portugal extended his agreement in March, keeping him at Molineux till 2027. That hasn’t stopped the Gunners from speaking with his agent Jorge Mendes, though.
Over the past month, there are rumored to have been discussions about a prospective summer transfer.
Neto only made 13 league appearances for the team last season due to a significant knee injury, scoring and assisting on one goal apiece.
This season, he has started each of Bruno Lage’s three games, however he has yet to significantly contribute with a goal or an assist. Neto, a natural winger, began the first two games on the left side of the Wolves attack.
In his team’s 1-0 Premier League loss against Tottenham Hotspur on August 20, he was used as a right wing-back. The former SC Braga player is capable of attacking from the middle.
Given that it is evident that Mikel Arteta does not want to regularly start Nicolas Pepe, his club could benefit from having a player with such adaptability.
The Ivory Coast international has not yet participated in a single minute of this season’s competitive football.
Mark Mann-Bryans of PA Sports reports that Arsenal and Gabriel Martinelli have begun contract negotiations.
In 87 games for the north Londoners in all competitions, he has 20 goals and 13 assists. Martinelli has had a tremendous start to the year, scoring once in each of his team’s first two league contests.
On August 5, he scored in their 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace before scoring once more in the Gunners’ 4-2 triumph over Leicester City
Martinelli has been playing well lately, and Arsenal, who has nine points out of a possible nine in the current season, wants to reward him more.”
