Arsenal won 2-0 against Crystal Palace to kick off the 2022-23 Premier League campaign in impressive form.

newest hires Both Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko made their team debuts for Mikel Arteta’s squad on Friday, with Jesus standing out and Zinchenko contributing the assist for the game’s first goal.

The goal was scored from close range by Gabriel Martinelli, and late in the game Arsenal added a second when Bukayo Saka’s cross was deflected into his own goal by Marc Guehi.

Aaron Ramsdale had opportunities to prevent goals from Palace during the interim period, but he and Arsenal defended well to secure their first three points of the new season.

By gliding through the Palace defense and then having his shot deflected into Martinelli’s path, Jesus immediately demonstrated what he will bring to Arsenal. Martinelli then wastefully missed the goal.

However, Martinelli scored quickly when Zinchenko headed Saka’s deep corner back across the goal for the forward to nod in.

Palace had few early opportunities, but just before halftime, Odsonne Edouard had a fantastic opportunity, and his header forced Ramsdale to make a superb stop to his right.

Eberechi Eze was fed by Wilfried Zaha early in the second half, but his shot was too close to the England goalkeeper, forcing Ramsdale into another save.

Arsenal unintentionally increased the pressure in the last minutes, but Palace was unable to take advantage and saw their hopes of salvaging a victory destroyed by Guehi.”
