Amid Man City Interest: Arsenal Offer Bukayo Saka New Contract
The 20-year-old has reportedly been offered a new, long-term deal by Arsenal that would treble his current weekly salary of £70,000 and make him one of the highest-paid players at the team.
Bukayo Saka progressed through Arsenal’s youth programs before making his club debut in the 2018–19 season.
The following season, he was a crucial part of the team’s starting lineup, and during the 2020–21 season, he emerged as one of their notable players.
He was chosen for the England squad for Euro 2020 as a result of his outstanding play for Mikel Arteta’s team.
He was one of the competition’s breakout performers and assisted the Three Lions in reaching the championship game.
Saka upped his game last season, netting 11 goals for the north London team in 38 Premier League outings.
Manchester City has taken notice of him due to his performances and sees him as the perfect successor for Raheem Sterling, who departed the team this summer to join Chelsea.
The 20-year-old is already one of Arsenal’s top players and is regarded as the team’s future, therefore the club is desperate to hang onto him.
A contract extension will also help Saka maintain his transfer worth and keep the Gunners from losing him for cheap next summer since he will only have one year left on his current deal.
Midway through the previous season, the Gunners were the front-runners to place in the top four of the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s team finished fifth in the league table, missing out on qualifying for the Champions League for the upcoming season as a result of a severe downturn brought on by a lack of quality and depth.
The north London club has had a successful transfer window thus far, bringing in Matt Turner, Marquinhos, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus, and Fabio Vieira.
As a result, it will be expected of them to contend for a spot in the top four and perhaps even win a domestic Cup the following year.

Why Gabriel Jesus Isn’t Interested In Being Main Man At Arsenal
According to Teamtalk, Bukayo Saka is eager to compete in the Champions League and win championships soon.
Therefore, he might decide to pass up the possibility to extend his contract this summer and wait to see where the north London club is headed for the upcoming year.
The England international may decide to reevaluate his future at the Emirates Stadium if the team doesn’t improve or doesn’t place in the top four.
If he chooses not to extend his contract with the Gunners, Manchester City may have the opportunity to sign him for a low cost.
