2023: N-Delta Group Urges Atiku To Pick Okowa As Running Mate, Says It’s Best Man For The Jobs;NDRA, Niger Delta Rights Assembly, has made a case for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State to be nominated as running mate to the Presidential standard deliverer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku was elected the PDP Presidential flagbearer at the recently- concluded PDP primary but the issue of his handling mate is yet to be resolved with Okowa, among others featuring prominently on the list of campaigners being considered for the position.

Other politicians being considered are Rivers State governor and first runner- up to Atiku, Nyesom Wike; former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel.

still, NDRA, which comprises substantially youths drawn from across the Niger Delta states, in a statement by its chairman, Chief Israel Bokromo, advised Atiku to pick Okowa, describing him as the good suited for the job among the lot.

NDRA said Among those being considered for the position of running mate to Atiku, we consider Governor Okowa as the most good for the position of running mate and eventually the vice president of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We’re pushing for Okowa not just because of his fidelity and commitment to the PDP but because among all those being considered, he has the good address, disposition and electoral value to swing votes in favour of the PDP.

Okowa has both private and public sector experience, starting out from private practice as a medical croaker
to the public sector

Where he was involved as both clerk and president of his original government at different times, and latterly as Secretary to the State Government, Senator and now as governor for seven times.

Okowa has also played critical places for the PDP at different times by delivering believable, hostility-free conventions.

At this time that Nigeria earnestly desires a unifier and chauvinist, Okowa comes in handy as we can see the peace that he has wrought in Delta state by laboriously engaging the youths of the state.

We’re confident that given his outstanding performance in Delta, where he has connected with the people through structure development, dependable healthcare delivery, quality education

Restoration of the state’s sporting glory, youth empowered with different skill accession programmes and general mortal capital development, he’d add real value to governance at the centre.

We want to use this occasion to advise all those colluding against and blackmailing Okowa to desist from their evil shenanigans as this won’t in any way dwindle the rising profile of Governor Okowa as a performing governor, a refined egalitarian and an icon of good governance, the group said
